A Full Circle
I was raised in a small East Bay town named Kensington and was fortunate to spend my summers at Devoto Gardens, my aunt and uncle's flower and apple ranch, in Sebastopol. I developed a love for this area.

I did my undergraduate studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara where I received a degree in Environmental Studies. While in Santa Barbara I met my husband and together we decided to move to Sonoma County after we graduated.

I completed my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at Chapman University and began my teaching career in Petaluma teaching fifth grade. I was there for one year and then moved to Harmony School at the original town location, continuing to teach fifth grade. In 2000 I decided to take a break from teaching when my first daughter was born. My second daughter was born in 2002.

The time at home allowed me to spend the days with my children but I never stopped working in education. I served as a private high school math tutor, as a reading tutor to 5th graders at Cali Calmecac Language Academy, as a long term substitute at Brush Creek Nursery School and as a teacher of English as a Second Language to adults. When my daughters started school I taught high school English to students that needed to make up missing credits through the Omega Program. I also taught English at Windsor Oaks, a continuation high school.

In 2010 I returned to teaching at Salmon Creek taking a sixth and seventh grade position. In 2014 I moved to second grade. I have come full circle and feel very fortunate to work at our amazing school.
